Maroje Mose has been working as part of Boatshed's Central Sales Team as our broker for Boatshed Croatia since early 2016. We thought it would be a nice idea to find out a little more about him.

Hi Maroje, what was your first experience of boating?
My first experience of boating was some 15 years ago in a sailing school in Jezera on the Island of Murter in Croatia. It immediately became very clear to me that my future professional career has to be related to boating.

What did you do before you became a broker?
My first serious job was as a customer service agent in a large regional online travel agency. This was the place where I first had contact with yacht charter business, sailing schools and other products related to boating.

What do you like about being a broker?
Meeting the boat owners and listening to their stories about their boats is a fantastic experience. Not to forget a lot of time spent on the sea.

What is your days timeline?
A lot of hard work but all related to boating so not a real issue actually : )

What is your first memory of boating?
Boating has been a part of my life since my early childhood and I remember enjoying the sea, the sun and the bays of Stari Grad on the island of Hvar in Croatia during the summer vacations with my parents on our small inflatable dinghy with a 4 hp outboard engine.

What is your best experience on a boat and why?
My worst experience on a boat was at the same time my best experience. It was when I was the skipper for the first time and my knowledge about boating was very poor at that time - it was a really stressful holiday. When we'd finished sailing, I felt somehow satisfied that the boat and the crew were safely returned to the harbour.

What is your favourite anchorage and why?
My favourite anchorages are at the moment on the island of Vis in Croatia. There is something special about this island and the nature is fantastic.

What's your favourite onboard food?
My favourite onboard food is Pasticada - a stewed beef dish cooked in special sauce, popular in Croatia.

If you could only do one voyage, where would your destination be?
I would really love to sail from Croatia south to Greece and Turkey - this part of the Mediterranean is very interesting to me because of it's natural and historical sights.

Do you have a personal hero or heroine?
My parents are for sure my personal heroes - the amount of love and patience they've had and still have for me and my family is incredible.
